Sreeshwan grabs IM title

At 13 years, five months and ten days, he is the youngest International Master from Telangana

Hyderabad: M Sreeshwan from Telangana achieved his third and final norm to collect the International Master title in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday. The 13-year-old Sreeshwan had already achieved the required Eli Rating points of 2400.

At present, Sreeshwan stands at 2461 points. At 13 years, five months and ten days, he is the youngest International Master from Telangana. Sreeshwan is also the seventh person from the State to achieve this feat.

He had won gold medal in the Asian Youth Chess Tourney held in Sri Lanka in the under-14 section. He showed the chess world that he can be a giant killer by defeating GM Vassily Ivanchuk in 26 moves at the Sunway Sitges Chess 2018.
