TOUGH OUTING: Players in action at the Rev Fr Devasia inter-school chess tournament at St Andrews, Bowenpally.

Hyderabad: Hosts St Andrews School Bowenpally boys (Team A) beat Johnson Grammar School to share the lead along with Little Flower School, Chirec International, DPS and Hindu Public School at the end of the first round of the Rev Fr Devasia inter-school chess tournament on Tuesday. A total of 26 schools are participating in the competition.

Results (Round I): Boys: St Andrews School (Team A) (2) bt Johnson Grammar School (0); Little Flower School (2) bt St Andrew’s School (Team B)(0); Meridian School (1) drew with Pallavi Model School (1); Samaritan Public School (1) drew with Bhavans School (1); Chirec International School (2) bt Secunderabad Public School (0); St Andrews School (Maredpally) (0) lost to Delhi Public School (2); Hindu Public School (2) bt St Andrew’s School (Keesara) (0).

Girls: Hindu Public School (0) lost to Little Flower School (2); Pallavi Model School (0) lost to Meridian School (2); Bhavans School (1) drew with Chirec International School (1); St Andrews School (Team A) (2) bt Samaritan Public School (0), Johnson Grammar School (1) drew with St Andrews School (Team B)(1).
