Sangareddy: The Stage is set for elections in 15 urban local bodies (ULBs) in Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts.
In Sangareddy district, there are seven municipalities- Sangareddy, Sadhasivapet, Ameenpur, Tellapur, IDA Bollaram, Jogipet and Narayankhed while Patancheru Assembly constituency has three municipalities, Sangareddy constituency has two municipalities. Out of 162 wards, three wards in IDA Bollaram ward and one ward in Sadhasivapet were elected unanimously.
The district administration led by Collector, M Hanumantha Rao made all arrangements for smooth conduct of the polling at 358 polling stations in the rest 158 wards in Sangareddy district. The district administration will utilise the services of 1,790 police staff for the security purpose.
District SP, S Chandrashekar Reddy said that they were using 1,491 police pesonnel to provide security at the police stations
On the other hand, the election is being conducted for four municipalities in Siddipet district. The stage is set for the poll day i.e. on Wednesday, in-Dubbak-Husnabad,Cherial and Gajwel-Pregnapur municipalities with having 72 wards altogether. Of these, the election for three wards was unapposed. The district administration led by Collector, Siddipet, P Venkatrami Reddy has put everything in place at 149 polling stations spread in four municipalities with the deployment of 931 polling staff. Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis said that they have deputed 800 personnel to provide security at the polling stations and other places for poll the day.
Meanwhile, Medak district has four municipalities including Medak, Narsapur, Ramayampet and Toopran comprising 75 wards for which polling would take place in 150 polling stations.
