Hyderabad: The BJP State unit on Friday refuted IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao’s observation that the Centre had failed to establish a rail coach factory in Kazipet in the public sector, and claimed that the State had failed to allocate the required land to set up the project.

Telangana BJP general Secretary G Premender Reddy, in a statement here, said, “It is ridiculous on the part of the State government to blame it on the Centre when the allocation of land for the public sector project in Kazipet is in its hands. Is it not true that the Centre has time and again reminded the State government about allocation of land for the project? Is it possible for the Centre to establish a factory without the active participation of the State government?” he questioned.

He asked the State government not to politicise the issue and acquire and allocate land to enable the Centre start the project right away.
