Mayor to speak at the summit to be held at Raipur from May 24 to 26

Karimnagar: Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Mayor S Ravinder Singh is going to participate in the ‘Smart City Summit Raipur’ to be held at Raipur of Chhattisgarh.

About 200 delegates as well as representatives of international-level smart cities will take part in the three-day summit scheduled to be held from May 24 to 26. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the participants.

With a view to develop cities in all fronts, the Union government had announced that it will declare 100 smart cities to take up developmental work. Of those, 60 cities were already declared as smart cities and remaining 40 have to be included in the list.

On the occasion, a seminar will be conducted to educate the representatives on how water supply, roads, drainages, infrastructure and other basic facilities should be in smart cities. They will also be educated about the new techniques to be adopted to enhance facilities and infrastructure in the cities.

Participants will also get an opportunity to express their opinion on a particular subject. For this purpose, each person was allocated a subject to speak in the summit. KMC Mayor Ravinder Singh was asked to speak on water supply system.

Speaking to Tabloid Today, Ravinder Singh says, “Representatives from different cities, national and international level, will share their experiences and methods implemented in their respective cities. So, this will help KMC, which is competing for a smart city status.”

Informing us that he was asked to speak on water supply system, the Mayor says that he would speak about the steps taken to supply water regularly to the residents of the town, and new initiative to be taken to supply round-the-clock water in Corporation limits.
