Kothagudem: Principal Secretary to Chief Minister S Narasing Rao on Thursday directed irrigation officials in the district to submit daily progress reports of Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project (SRLIP) works to the government.
He along with Secretary to Chief Minister Smitha Sabarwal, Special Secretary to Chief Minister K Bhoopal Reddy, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Telangana Harita Haram Priyanka Varghese inspected the SRLIP sites in Kothagudem district.
Later, reviewing the progress of works, he wanted the officials to execute works on a war-footing as Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted to ensure water supply to farmers in Khammam, Kothagudem and Mahabubnagar districts as per schedule.
By the end of July or August, the project had to be connected to Nagarjunasagar canal, he said.
In the second phase, six pumps with capacity of 40 MW would be installed.
Meanwhile, Smitha Sabarwal expressed displeasure at the delay in the stage-3 works at Kamalapuram. She told the contractor to engage additional workforce and machinery to complete the works as per schedule.
District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini, Irrigation OSD Deshpande, CE Sudhakar Rao, SE Nageshwar Rao, irrigation EE Venkateshwara Reddy and others were present.
