Going by the final figures, Saaho despite its assured success at a pan India level failed to make a headway at the box office collections. Insiders are of the opinion that the film’s similarity to Sujeeth’s previous film Run Raja Run is to blame. Also, it didn’t help matters that it was said to be a copy of the French film Largo Winch.
However, the crew refuted all such rumours of copying the French original. Sujeeth has adamantly denied any similarities to the French version. But, he did admit that Saaho had elements taken from his Run Raja Run. Of course, all these admissions didn’t matter as Saaho couldn’t bring in the moolah at the end.
Following a great three in the opening week, Saaho found itself lumbering along other movies, much to the dismay of Prabhas fans. Many were disappointed to see their darling being reduced to a caricature action hero in a weak script, full of high-octane sequences. Despite a gigantic budget, audiences weren’t impressed. For Sujeeth, it was almost like he casted the dice against himself in the movie business.
