Hyderabad: The ambitious Internet connectivity project of the Telangana government, T-Fiber was showcased at the World Congress IT that had delegates from 35+ different countries.

Along with Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao, Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and other dignitaries were present at the showcase of T-Fiber.

The officials of T-Fiber not only showcased the project but also shared details on the pilot conducted in four villages of Maheshwaram mandal in Ranga Reddy district. It showed case studies of farmers using the connectivity project to improve their produce.

The T-Fiber aims at providing Internet connectivity to about one crore households in Telangana and make government services more accessible to people. As against 1.25 lakh km of ducts, more than 30,000 km have already been laid to carry optic fibre cables as of January-end.

Using the fibre optical network, many e-governance services such as Mee Seva, education, health, security surveillance, panchayat services, broadband Internet, cable television, telephone connection and IPTV services Vidya Nipuna were tested The project is being taken up with another flagship project of the State government — Mission Bhagiratha — and used pipeline trenches for laying ducts that carry optic fibre cables. The government had earlier informed that the first phase of the project will be completed by June.
