In a communication sent to Minister for Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, CAIT has demanded that the government should immediately restrict WhatsApp from implementing the new policy or put a ban on WhatsApp and its parent company Facebook.
Signal has been trending on all social media platforms after Whatsapp updated its private policy this year and revelead its data-sharing policy with Facebook.
"Imagine dozens of employees working on just that full-time. I am happy to save Facebook tens of millions of dollars and give away our secret for free: respect your users," he said in a statement.
The tweet posted an image of a series of ever-larger dominos, juxtaposed the start of Facebook on the Harvard University campus, all the way into becoming a platform that helped facilitate the attack on Capitol Hill.
The in-app notification did not elicit much details but clicking on the links clearly mentioned the key changes in how WhatsApp will collect and process users' information going forward, and the partnership with Facebook
The city-based company saw a lot of traction from edtech and fintech enterprises even as the traditional customer-centric sectors like taxi and grocery delivery saw a dip in the first 4-5 months of 2020.
