Telugu Association of Greater Chicago celebrates Ugadi and Sri Rama Navami in Naperville

The programme highlights, included Sri Rama Navami theme songs, ‘Maya Bazaar’ theme songs, fusion songs on Lord Shiva, Ugadi theme skit and retro couple theme in the backdrop of hits of Tollywood stars.

Telugu Association of Greater Chicago's Ugadi and Sri Rama Navami celebrations at Naperville.

 

Naperville, IL: Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (TAGC), the first Telugu association in North America, organised Ugadi and Sri Rama Navami celebrations at the Naperville Community Church known as Yellow Box in Naperville on Saturday. The event was a grand success with an overwhelming response from the Telugu families from the region comprising over 1,350 members.

TAGC president Ramachandra Reddy Ade inaugurated the celebrations in the presence of executive committee and the board of directors. As many as 300 participants performed a variety of entertainment shows.

The programme highlights, included Sri Rama Navami theme songs, ‘Maya Bazaar’ theme songs, fusion songs on Lord Shiva, Ugadi theme skit and retro couple theme in the backdrop of hits of Tollywood stars from 1970 to 2015, the association said in a press release here.

 Ade thanked and congratulated the cultural committee chair Sujatha Katta and her team who worked for over a month to make the event a flawless one.

 He also welcomed the chief guest O.P. Meena. TAGC President Ramachandra Ade , Past President Pradeep Kandimalla, Youth committee chair (2016) Venkat Gunuganti and O.P. Meena honored youth members with PVSA certificates for those who volunteered and qualified for year-2016. 

 “Music does bring people together”- with this motto, TAGC invited singers -Anjana Sowmya, Dhamini, Narendra and Yazin Nizar – from India who performed a live concert. The musical night enthralled the guests with continuous nonstop entertainment for over three hours.

 A sumptuous spread included Ugadi pachadi and other delicious dishes (co-sponsored by Hyderabad House restaurant Management, Schaumburg & Naperville) were offered during the dinner.

 Ade thanked the executive committee, board of directors and volunteers for their planning and preparations for making this event a memorable one.
