Hyderabad: Telangana NRIs have played a key role during Telangana agitation in United States. Despite living in a foreign land, the Telugu families who are settled in US actively raised their voice for the cause of separate Statehood, said chairman, State Legislative Council, Swamy Goud.
Speaking at the fifth edition of Pravasi Telangana Divas organised by Telangana Development Forum (TDF)-USA here on Sunday, Goud said that the contributions of TDF during Telangana agitation will be remembered.
The council chairman said that the State government is also ready to consider inputs and suggestions given by the NRI association.
On the occasion, the members of TDF said that their mission is to preserve and propagate State’s unique cultural identity. Our aim is also to work towards development of resources, economic well-being and develop leadership across all the segments in the State.
Laxman Anugu, president, TDF-USA said “We are operating like a think tank and working for the overall development of the State. TDF is moving forward with an objective, ‘Our youth, our future’ for a better tomorrow”.
The fifth edition of Pravasi Telangana Divas also highlighted the role of NRIs in the development of the State. The event had thematic sessions on education, employment opportunities, health care, water and irrigation and electricity.
