Hyderabad: Man kills wife suspecting her fidelity
The victim Sudha Rani (22), a native of Kamareddy district in Telangana lived along with her husband A Kiran Kumar at Pragathinagar in Bachupally police station limits.
Hyderabad: A software engineering allegedly killed his wife suspecting her fidelity and later attempted suicide by slitting his throat and limbs at Bachupally in Kukatpally. According to the police, Sudha Rani (22) and A Kiran Kumar, were married a month ago. Natives of Kamareddy district, the couple lived at a house in Pragathinagar under Bachupally police station limits. Kiran works with an IT company located in the Gachibowli area.
For the last couple of weeks, Kiran was reported to be suspecting his wife and often picked up arguments with her over some or the other issue. On Saturday afternoon, Kiran again picked up a quarrel with his wife. “During the argument, he took a knife and is suspected to have slit the throat of the woman and stabbed her multiple times resulting in her death,” said Bachupally Inspector, K Narsimha Reddy.
Later, he attempted to slit his throat and wrist in a bid to end his life. “The parents of the woman, who had come home to meet her in the night, repeatedly knocked on the door but failed to get any response. They grew suspicious and later when they broke open the door, they found Sudha Rani in a pool of blood and Kiran lying on the floor in an unconscious state,” the police said.
On information, the police reached the spot and shifted Kiran to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The body of the woman was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem. The police suspect that after killing his wife, Kiran could have panicked and attempted suicide. According to doctors, Kiran’s condition is stated to be critical. The police registered a case under Section 302 and 309 of the Indian Penal Code against Kiran and are investigating.
