Hyderabad: A 17-year-old intermediate student allegedly jumped to death from the fourth floor of Pragathi Elegance Apartments under the Kukatpally Housing Board Colony police station limits here on Friday.

According to the police, the student, M Bhavan, a native of Warangal, was an MPC second year student at a private intermediate college here.

KPHB Inspector Ch Kushalkar said the incident occurred around 5 am when the family members were asleep.

“He jumped from the fourth floor of the building. The reasons for the suicide are being ascertained,” he said.

The police are suspecting academic pressure or health issues could have led to the extreme step.

A case has been booked and the investigation is underway. Bhavan’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
