Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress on Tuesday said a delegation of party leaders would visit Kuwait for three days from February 14 to offer “moral support” to Indians attempting to return home from that country.
The delegation will be led by the party’s all-India general secretary RC Khuntia, the party said. The party also appealed to the Telangana government to provide free air tickets to nearly 5,000 people from the State stuck in the Gulf nation. The State should also immediately send an official delegation to assist them in their return and introduce rehabilitation packages.
The delegation will comprise TPCC-Gulf NRI Cell State convener Nangi Devender Reddy and party leader from Korutla Assembly constituency Dr JN Venkat.
The delegation will travel within Kuwait, meet Indians facing difficulties in returning home and assist them in using the amnesty announced by Kuwait for foreigners staying illegally. The amnesty went into force on January 29 and will expire on February 22.
