Hyderabad: In its attempt to decentralise the sample testing for Covid-19 diagnosis and reduce the backlog of samples at various government laboratories in and around Hyderabad, Director of Public Health and Family Welfare has identified seven additional testing centres in districts.

The Covid-19 testing will now also be taken up in government hospitals at Nizamabad, Gadwal, Kothagudem, Karimnagar, Suryapet, Asifabad and Medak, which will reduce the logistical challenges of rushing the swab samples of suspected patients to government laboratories in areas under GHMC.
