Telangana discoms told to ensure quality power infra

Hyderabad: Officials of electricity utilities TSTransco and TSGenco were on Thursday called upon to ensure that there was no compromise on quality with respect to under-construction power projects and associated transmission infrastructure coming up in Telangana.

Addressing a one-day work shop on quality management in the power sector at Vidyut Soudha that was attended by the engineering staff and senior officials of the two power utilities, Transco and Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao said ensuring quality will be the key to successful power production and longevity of power projects.

He also released a ‘Quality Management Systems Manual’ and said officials and engineers should constantly strive to increase their knowledge on quality parameters that keep changing with times, resulting in increasing efficiency.

The meeting was attended by Transco Joint Managing Director Srinivasa Rao, Genco Directors Venkatrajam, Sachidanandam, Ashok Kumar and Lalit Kumar, Executive Director Ajay, Consultant KV Phani Kumar, Quality Control Chief Engineer Narayana and several other engineers and officials of both the power companies.
