Telangana government to honour best government employees

The committee explained that to recognise the hard work of government employees and their contribution towards achieving the goal of 'Golden Telangana,' the government has decided to encourage employees at all levels starting from mandal to secretariat.

Hyderabad: A bonanza awaits the committed and serious government employees in the State with the State government deciding to honour the best employees in four categories with Rs 5 lakh cash prize while another 124 employees will receive an additional increment, commendation letter and mention of appreciation in service record book.

The decision was taken on Thursday at the Incentive Committee meeting held in the State Secretariat under the chairmanship of special Chief Secretary B P Acharya to frame the guidelines for the selection of best employees. The committee explained that to recognise the hard work of government employees and their contribution towards achieving the goal of ‘Golden Telangana,’ the government has decided to encourage employees at all levels starting from mandal to secretariat.

According to the guidelines, 124 best government employees will be selected from the 31 districts in Group-I, Group-II, Class-III and Class-IV categories.“District level selection committee headed by the Collector will decide the best employees and forward names of employees from the four categories for the State awards,” Acharaya said. The 124 best employees will be honoured with one additional increment, commendation letter and service book entry. The State level employees from the four categories will be given huge cash incentives with those achieving the top position receiving Rs 5 lakh each, second position employees Rs 3 lakh each and third placed employees Rs 2 lakh each. All employees can send their details and achievements online at telangana.gov.in before July 31, Acharya said.

At the State level, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will distribute the awards on Independence Day while at the district level, Ministers will give away the award to best employees. Incentive Committee members Suresh Chanda, Adhar Sinha, K Ramakrishna Rao, Prashanthi, Amrapali and Shalini Mishra participated in the meeting.
