Hyderabad: The State government is drafting guidelines for organisers of public events and exhibitions insisting for strict adherence to the norms. Chief Secretary SK Joshi directed the officials concerned to prepare the guidelines seperately for small, medium and major events where the event organisers also have to submit self-certification assuring to follow the norms.
Following the recent fire accident during this year’s Numaish, the State government initiated steps to ensure safety and adherence to fire-fighting, electricity, parking and other norms. Chief Secretary SK Joshi who reviewed the existing norms during a meeting with top officials at the State Secretariat on Tuesday and asked them to prepare draft guildelines at the earliest. The events and exhibitions also will be categorised based on their location – closed venues, permanent complexes and open areas.
The officials have decided to prepare an operational protocol for the organisers facilitating them to obtain necessary permissions from various government departments and also strict adherence to the norms. Specific timeframe will be set for clearance of each application after due inspection by the authorities concerned. Seperate guidelines will be prepared for annual events like Numaish, fish prasadam distribution and other events to obtain necessary permissions from various government department. A simplified proforma also is being drafted enabling the organisers to submit the event venue layout including parking facility.
Principal Secretary for Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary for Home Rajeev Trivedi, GHMC commissioner Dana Kishore, Director General of Fire Services Gopikrishna, Additional Director General of Police Jithender, Police Commissioners Anjani Kumar, Mahesh Bhagawat and other senior officials were present.
