Hyderabad: Telangana government’s electric service delivery system MeeSeva has bagged the prestigious WITSA Chairman’s Award at the concluding session of the first day of the World Congress IT. The award was presented to Commissioner ESD G T Venkateswar Rao in the presence of the Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao, IT principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan, WITSA chairman Yvonne Chiu and Nasscom president R Chandrashekhar. The prestigious award holds significance because of the digital coverage that MeeSeva has provided to the citizens of Telangana since its inception.
This award holds significance because Telangana is the only State from India to get recognised among a host of awards presented to countries from all over the globe. The second award in this category was presented to TVMO Centre for Creative Technology, Armenia.
In addition, Nasscom presented its Global Leadership Awards in five different categories. The Global CEO Award was given to David Cote, executive chairman, Honeywell; the Tech Innovator Award was given to Andrew NG, co-founder, Coursera; the Visionary Leader Award was presented to Ed Monser, President, Emerson Electric; the Digital Evangelist Award was awarded to Guido Jouret, Chief Digital Officer, ABB and lastly the Nasscom-Capgemini Innovation Award 2018 was given to McDonald’s Corporation and was received by Daniel Henry, Chief Innovation Officer.
Meanwhile, the WITSA Global ICT Awards were presented in seven different categories that included Public Service Excellence Award to Minister of Science and ICT-Korean Institute of Science and Technology; Private Sector Excellence Award – Acer ITS Inc; Digital Opportunity Award – Information Society SA; Sustainable Growth Award – National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia; Mobile Excellence Award – SSI of Institute of Information Industry; Innovative e-Health Solution – Electronic Record Sharing System, Hong Kong and Em
