Telangana: Singur inflow reaches 28,000 cusecs

Singur, built across river Manjira at Singur village of Pulkal Mandal, was receiving just below 1,000 cusecs until Tuesday morning.

Sangareddy: Singur Multipurpose project, the biggest project built across river Manjira in Telangana, has been receiving considerable inflows since midnight. Singur, built across river Manjira at Singur village of Pulkal Mandal, was receiving just below 1,000 cusecs until Tuesday morning. However, the inflows have increased to over 5,000 cusecs on Tuesday by 9.30 p.m. As the Manjira’s catchment area received heavy rains, the inflows swelled to 15,000 cusecs on Wednesday morning.

The inflows have further increased to 28,770 cusecs of water at 9.30 a.m. Since the river’s catchment area has recorded 66 MM rainfall during the past 24 hours, JE, Mahipal Reddy has said that the inflows to the project have increased considerably. The 28,000 cusecs of the inflow,  is the highest inflow recorded at the project since 2017.

Meanwhile, the project authorities were cautiously observing the inflows coming into the project. Mahipal Reddy has said that they will again announce the status of inflows into the project at 12 p.m. today. The project is now having 5 TMCfts of water against its full storage capacity of 29.91 TMCft. The project has got over 1.5 TMCft water during the past 24 hours as the water storage has increased from 3.3 TMCft on Tuesday morning to 5 TMCft on Wednesday morning.
