Telangana spending Rs 45,000 cr on welfare, says Minister Laxma Reddy

Mahabubnagar: Health Minister C Laxma Reddy, on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day on Saturday, handed over cheques to 94 beneficiaries of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes at Chandra Gardens in Jadcherla.

Addressing the gathering, he said the State government was taking up various welfare programmes in the State by spending Rs 45,000 crore and that even Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was keenly looking at schemes and development projects being implemented here.

“We could complete Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Project and fill Krishna water in our minor irrigation tanks. Soon, Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project will be completed to make the entire Palamuru region green,” he added.

Early in the day, Reddy inaugurated a rehabilitation centre for mentally challenged in Mahabubnagar, which was established in association with the Red Cross Society of Mahabubnagar. He then interacted with mentally challenged children.
