Hyderabad: The Telangana State Taxes Employees Association has urged the government to take up general transfers immediately in view of the commencement of the academic year and grant incentives to achiever employees of the commercial taxes department on the lines of revenue and electricity departments.
In a meeting held here on Thursday, the association leaders decided to request the government to sanction 30 per cent HRA to working officers in the twin cities, 30 per cent additional salary for those working in the Economic Investigation Unit (EIU).
The office bearers pledged to work towards achieving the targets of revenue collection set by the government.
In a statement here, the association honorary president T Venkateshwarlu, president KM Venugopal requested the government to take up the transfers which have been long pending.
They pointed out that the revenue collection staff were unable to focus on the primary task as there was an acute shortage of ministerial staff in the department.
They urged the government to evolve a system of providing vehicles on loan basis rather than paying huge vehicle rents every month.
The association urged the government to ensure that seniority lists be finalised immediately and to upgrade the post of ACTO as Gazetted as they were performing the duty as a registering authority.
