Hyderabad: The TRS is making plans for State-wide celebrations to mark the inauguration of Kaleshwaram irrigation project by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on June 21. Senior party leader and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the TRS State executive committee which met at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters here in the city on Wednesday, unanimously congratulated Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao for making the dream of Kaleshwaram irrigation project a reality.
Rajeshwar Reddy was addressing a press conference after the committee met under the chairmanship of Chandrashekhar Rao. He said party leaders and workers will organise celebrations in every village on June 21 to mark Kaleshwaram project inauguration and called on the people to join in and celebrate the landmark event in a festive atmosphere.
He said the Chief Minister recalled the party’s journey from 2001 when it was established till now when people of the State reposed their faith in it from Assembly elections to the recent Gram Panchayat, MPTC and ZPTC as well as ZP chairpersons’ elections. “The Chief Minister said TRS has emerged as a shield that will protect people and provide what they require. The party will continue to strive hard to meet the expectations of the people and live up to the faith people of Telangana placed on TRS,” Rajeshwar Reddy said.
He said the foundation stones will be laid for 32 TRS party offices in different districts on June 24 and that TRS State executive approved the release of Rs 19.20 crore from party funds for construction of the office buildings. The construction of the buildings will be completed by Dasara this year and they will be inaugurated on the day of Dasara festival.
Rajeshwar Reddy said an extended meeting of the party, including all its elected members – MPs, MLAs, MLCs, MPTCs, ZPTCs, GP heads and ZP heads among others – will be held at Telangana Bhavan on June 27, the day the party’s membership drive will be launched by Chandrashekhar Rao. The membership drive will continue till the end of July.
