Telangana: TSWC chief lashes out at Opposition

Yadadri-Bhongir: The Telangana State Warehouse Corporation Chairman Mandula Samuel on Saturday strongly criticised leaders of opposition parties for provoking the oustees and filing cases in the courts to halt the execution of irrigation projects taken up the State government.  Speaking at a media conference at Mothkur in the district, Samuel said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken up irrigation projects to create one crore acres of ayacut in the State. Though the State government was extending best relief and rehabilitation package, the opposition parties particularly Congress have been trying to create hurdles by approaching the Courts, he added.

“It was a universal fact that taking up new irrigation project would submerge some area. Several villages were submerged when Nagarjunasagar Project by the Congress government. The Congress leaders should not forget the fact”, he said. He pointed out that it was only the TRS government in the history of the country that was making efforts to ensure 24 hours power supply to agricultural sector. He pointed out that 24 hours power supply to agricultural sector was already being implemented in Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir and Suryapet districts as a pilot project.

The Chief Minister has also introduced reservations to the nominations of posts of Marketing Committee. He has also listed out the welfare schemes including kalyana lakshmi which have taken up by the State government to bring change in the lives of poor people. He opined that victory of Telagana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) in Singareni Collieries, which was an affiliated unit of Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS), in the elections was a indication that the  increased public’s confidence on TRS.
