Telangana worker killed while safeguarding colleagues in Saudi

Riyadh: A Telangana NRI worker, who was guarding on the road for safety while his colleagues were working on street, was killed in a road accident in southern province of Abha in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

Neelam Mallesham of Kodmial Mandal of Jagtial district was working as street cleaner in a municipal cleaning and maintenance firm in mountainous Abha region from last six years.

Mallesham was guarding on the road by holding red flag to alert and warn motorists to safeguard his colleagues on the site who were trimming plants on roadside when a car driven by a Saudi youth hit him.

More than a dozen people from various parts of Telangana are working in the firm as street sweeping cleaners from last few years in the tiny village. Thousands of Telangana youth are working in numerous municipalities in Saudi Arabia and also in other parts of the gulf.
