Riyadh: The dead body of Telangana youth who had committed suicide in Saudi Arabia over a love affair has been repatriated on Friday, more than two months after his tragic death. Kunta Rajashekhar (27), native of Medipally Mandal in Jagtial district had committed suicide on March 28 in his room in Jubail in Saudi Arabia.

His father Kunta Rajesh, who also works in Saudi Arabia, was running from pillar to post to complete the legal formalities since the day his son died, but finally was able to complete it only on Thursday and his body was repatriated on Friday morning with the help of Nookala Limbadri, Telangana activist in Jubail.

According to his friends, Rajashekhar and his cousin Ponnam Vennala, who was native of neighbouring village Katlakunta, fell in love with each other during their school days. Their courtship continued over free video calls while Rajashekhar was in Saudi and they were planning for wedding after his return to India.

Following a heated discussion on their marriage with her father, Vennala had asked Rajashekhar to return to India immediately and marry her or chose to live in Saudi Arabia, after which she committed suicide.

One of her relatives, who works in Kuwait had posted a message on social media accusing Rajashekhar of being the reason behind Vennala’s death. The post which went viral over social media, left Rajashekhar humiliated and led to the drastic step of killing himself.
