Telangana’s Deepthi wins girls U-16 100m gold

Daughter of an agricultural labourer and who hails from Kalleda of Warangal district, Deepthi clocked 12.63 seconds to romp home in the sprint event.

Hyderabad: Telangana State’s Deepthi cruised to gold medal in the girls’ under-16 100 metres final in the 33rd National junior athletic championship at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Manglagiri in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Daughter of an agricultural labourer and who hails from Kalleda of Warangal district, Deepthi clocked 12.63 seconds to romp home in the sprint event. Tamil Nadu’s Sowmiya (12.71s) and Kerala’s Annu Joseph (12.75s) came second and third respectively.
