Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force police on Tuesday arrested three persons for adulterating ginger-garlic paste.

According to the police, following a tip off, three units Royal Traders in Chaderghat, Five Star Traders, and Omer and Sons in Falaknuma were raided.

Officials found that Mohammed Ahmed Khan, a resident of Chaderghat, Mohammed Faizal, resident of Farooq Nagar and Mohammed Jabbar, a resident of Teegalakunta were involved in adulteration of ginger-garlic paste by mixing food color powder, potatoes, onions and banana pulp and locally made acids.

“They did not have valid licenses. This adulterated stuff has adverse effects on the consumers. It also causes abdomen disorders and sometimes cancer too. About 15.60 quintals of adulterated ginger-garlic paste and other raw material were seized,” said B Limba Reddy, DCP, Task Force.
