Three-day ‘Spectrum-2017’ begins in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The three-day State level ‘Spectrum 2017’ was inaugurated by Dr RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), here at TSWRS Narsingi School on Tuesday.

Emphasizing creativity as an essential 21st century skill, Dr Kumar said: “more than 70% of today’s occupations would become automated by 2050. The need of the hour is to find the out-of-the box solutions to tackle real-world problems.”

He said that the TSWREIS is committed to the students beyond the confines of the classroom by nurturing higher-order thinking skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Dr Praveen Kumar thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and the Minister for Scheduled Caste Development Department G Jagadish Reddy for providing quality education to students from the weaker sections of the society under the KG-PG Mission.

The best brains of the Society will battle it out in competitive events like Essay-writing, Elocution, Debate, Quiz, Spell Bee, Dance, Youth Parliament, Culture and Scientific designs as a part of Spectrum 2017.

The annual event saw a huge turnout of 1500 students across Telangana, and the competitions will be held under junior and senior categories.
