Mancherial: Three persons were arrested by the Task Force police for allegedly diverting 55 sheep distributed under Sheep Development Scheme at Srirampur bus stand on Monday midnight. A four-wheeler in which they were shipping the animals was seized.

Taskforce ACP J Vijaya Sarathi said the accused were — Dandu Odelu, Balakrishna, Erukala Manoj — all natives of Srirampur mandal in Peddapalli district. The trio was detained at around 2 am at the bus stand following a tip-off.

Odelu, Balakrishna and Manoj confessed to have purchased the sheep from certain beneficiaries of the scheme by paying nominal prices. They said there was a great demand for the sheep in neighbouring States.
