Hyderabad: Three youngsters, who were allegedly drunk and riding triple, died after their bike rammed a tree and later a wall some 15 m away in Gundlapochampally on Saturday midnight.

According to the police, N Anil Kumar (25), a postgraduate, K Shashidhar Reddy (22), an electrician, and Chintu (20), a tea-stall owner, were residents of Gundlapochampally village. On Saturday night, the trio consumed alcohol at Madhavan Bar at Ayodhya X Roads and was on their way back home when Kumar, who was riding the bike, lost control of the vehicle.

“The incident occurred around 12.30 am. They had a liquor party and were going home on one bike. Kumar, who was speeding failed to control the vehicle after reaching Gundlapochampally X Roads and this resulted in the accident,” said Petbasheerabad Sub-Inspector S Srinath.

Police reached the spot and recovered the bodies, which were handed over to the trio’s families after a post-mortem examination at Gandhi Hospital on Sunday evening. Based on a complaint by the relatives, police booked a case under the Indian Penal Code and are investigating.

In a similar incident last Friday, three B.Tech students died after their bike hit a median near Suchitra Circle, which also falls under the Pet Basheerabad police station limits.
