Tikaram, Kishan set up summit clash

Wrestlers engage in a keen tussle during the 50 kg semifinal bout on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: H Tikaram Singh overpowered Md Aslam to cruise into the 50 kg weight category summit clash of the Hyderabad Open Wrestling Championship organised by Yadav Aheer Sports Welfare Association and 1 to Z Sports – Ethic Sports Foundation at Lal Bahadur Stadium on Wednesday.

Tikaram will lock horns with T Kishan Singh, who defeated P Srikanth Mudiraj in the other semifinal bout.

Meanwhile, S Akshath and K Sanjay set up a final clash in the 57 kg section. Akshath downed G Sai Yadav while Sanjay proved too strong for opponent M Vikaram to handle in the semifinals.

In the 86-120 kg category, Khalid Bin defeated Syed Mohammed to take on Md Muzzafar in the final. In the semifinal, Muzaffar overcame D Lava Kumar.
