Hyderabad: A two-year-old girl died after undergoing treatment at Government Community Health Centre Barkas.

According to the police, a small-time trader, Abdul Mateen, a resident of Pahadishareef, had brought his two-year-old daughter, Arbiya Maheen, to the hospital after she had vomited and complained of stomach pain.

The attending doctor, Nasreen Fatima, gave medicines to the child after a check-up and sent her away, police said. “But within a few minutes of reaching home, the girl’s condition deteriorated. By the time the girl’s parents came back to the health centre, the doctors declared the girl brought dead,” said Inspector Chandrayangutta Koteshwar Rao.

Basing on a complaint made by the parents, the police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC and took up the investigation. “If the role of the doctor is established, we will alter the section of the case,” said the Inspector.
