Transform Medak into litter-free zones, traders urged

Medak: District Collector K Dharam Reddy has called upon owners of business establishments in Medak to transform all the business streets in Medak town into litter-free zones. Speaking at a meeting with shop owners and members of associations on Saturday, the Collector urged them to play a key role in transforming Medak into a green town. He appealed them to join hands with Medak Municipality in solid waste management, improving sanitation and enhancing greenery by planting and conserving plants under Telangana ku Haritha Haram.

Urging traders to stop using plastic covers below 50 microns of width, the Collector asked them to pack all the goods in jute or other non-plastic bags. Reddy also asked them to segregate the dry and wet garbage at their doorstep before handing over the same to garbage collectors. Municipal Commissioner, Sammaiah, and other officials were present.
