The Palapitta Cycling park, which is India’s first cycling park, was inaugurated by the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KTR, a few months ago. Since then, the dump yard turned cycling park has been attracting cycling enthusiasts of all ages and has become a sought after recreational space in the city. Boasting a cycling track of almost 3km, with a separate one for children and beginners, the park has been named after Pala Pitta, which is the state bird.
The land, which was disputed for several years, used to be a dump and was home to trash from nearby residential areas. In 2017, the 35 acre land saw a massive change. Watch this video to know what it is like now.
