Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Young tribal mountaineer, Madavi Kanni Bai, has been appointed brand promoter of the 2nd Waterfall Rappelling World Cup slated to be held at Katika Waterfall in Andhra Pradesh from January 3 to 6.

An order to this effect was issued by K Ranga Rao, founder and director of Adventure Club of Telangana State and WRWCOC.

Hailing from remote Bheemangondi village in Kerameri mandal of the district, Kannibai had unfurled Tricolor on 6,512-m-high Mountain Bhageerathi II in Uttarakhand by embarking on a 18-day-long mountaineering on June 2 last. She won laurels for accomplishing the daunting task, braving many odds.

She was the winner of bronze medal of 1st Waterfall Rappelling World Cup held in Adilabad in 2019. To her credit, she had volunteered many adventure camps and participated in adventure sports — rock climbing, trekking and others — in several parts of Telangana. She is leading a risk team at Mavala park or Adilabad Harita Vanam, an urban forest park.
