Hyderabad: The Arbitration Tribunal has recognised the Telangana Olympic Association (TOA) as the State Olympic body.
According to a press note issued by K Jagadishwer Reddy, secretary of TOA, the three-member tribunal consisting Justice (retd) JC Rawat, PK Tripathi (retd IAS) and DC Misra (retd IPS) passed the award to TOA and rejected the claim of Olympic Association of Telangana (OAT) headed by K Ranga Rao as president and SR Premraj as secretary respectively.
The tribunal, at the same time, upheld the claim of TOA headed by AP Jithender Reddy and Jagadishwer as president and secretary respectively as properly constituted and elected Olympic association for the State of Telangana.
The press release further said the Tribunal award added that OAT had no right and power to conduct any Olympic activities in the State. Instead, the TOA had the right to do so in the State.
