Hyderabad: The ruling TRS complained against the TDP leadership stating that TDP leaders from Andhra Pradesh were stationed in different parts of Telangana State and were trying to influence the local voters through distribution of cash, liquor and other valuables. The TRS leaders lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday and sought immediate action in this regard.
In their complaint, TRS Election Coordination Committee members Madadi Ramesh Reddy and Dande Vittal said that even after the campaign ended on Wednesday evening, some TDP leaders from Andhra Pradesh were staying in Kukatpally and Serlingampally constituencies and other parts of Hyderabad as well as parts of erstwhile Khammam district. They alleged that these TDP leaders were resorting to distribution of cash, liquor and other valuables on behalf of the candidates of the Prajakutami in these constituencies in utter violation of election code of conduct.
Citing the cash seizures from the aides of TDP leader Jupudi Prabhakar Rao in Kukatpally on Wednesday night as an example, the TRS leaders urged the ECI to deploy additional forces to prevent the opposition parties from resorting to such activities.
