TRS Local Body People’s Representatives donate Rs 9,51,17,500 for CMRF

All the Mayors, corporators, Municipal Chairpersons, Zilla Parishat Chairperson, ZPTCs, MPPs, MPTCs and Sarpanches belonging to the ruling party have informed their consent to donate the one month's salary to the Chief Minister on Thursday.

Hyderabad: In a never before gesture of solidarity with the government that is fighting to save its people from a dreaded Pandemic, the people’s representatives from Local bodies belonging to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have donated their one month’s honorarium amounting to Rs 9,51,17,500 for the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

All the Mayors, corporators, Municipal Chairpersons, Zilla Parishat Chairperson, ZPTCs, MPPs, MPTCs and Sarpanches belonging to the ruling party have informed their consent to donate the one month’s salary to the Chief Minister on Thursday. They wanted the Chief Minister utilise that amount to control the spread of Covid 19 in the state.

They have said that they are inspired by the various initiatives taken by the Chief Minister to save the people of the state from the Corona infections. Appreciating the gesture the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that the decision of  the people’s representatives of the local bodies is unsurpassed and inspiring.

TRS has over 99 corporators in GHMC in addition to the mayor and Deputy mayor. Their cumulative emoluments comes around Rs 6,57,000.  Out of the 12 Municipal Corporations in the state except Hyderabad all the Mayors  are from TRS along with 491 Corporators. They are depositing an amount of  Rs 36,64,000 to CMRF.  Similarly, 114 Municipal Chairpersons, 106 Vice Chairpersons,  2,404 TRS councilors, donated Rs 84,26,500.  In all 32  Chairpersons in Zilla Parishads, gave away Rs 32 lakh, 449 ZPTCs contributed Rs 44,90,000, 441 MPPS contributed Rs 44,10,000,  3,571 MPTCs  donated Rs 1,78,55,000. 10,483 Sarpanches belonging to the party are  giving away Rs 5,24,15,000.

It is worth mentioning that the TRS Rajya Sabha members , Lok Sabha Members, MLAs and MLCs have already declared their one month salary to the CMRF . The MPs also donated MPLADS worth Rs 5 crore and MLAs Rs 3 crore to the CMRF. This way the MPS and MLAs are contributing Rs 500 crore to the CMRF.
