Hyderabad: Peddapalli MP Balka Suman on Wednesday predicted the downfall of Congress and other Opposition parties starting with the elections for recognised union of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He pointed out that unable to counter the welfare measures of the Chandrashekhar Rao government, political forces with ideological differences have joined hands to contest the SCCL recognised union elections.

“The fact that Congress, TDP, Communists and other organisations with completely different ideological backgrounds are forced to join hands to defeat TRS supported Telangana Boggugani Karmika Sangham indicates the popularity of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. They fear defeat in elections as none of these political parties have done any thing for welfare of SCCL workers during their regime,” Suman pointed out. But the Opposition parties will not succeed, he predicted during a media conference here.

The Lok Sabha member added that when TRS government restored dependent employment scheme, these Opposition parties had filed cases to stall it. He stated that the State government has not only provided 23 per cent share in profits to employees, but also proposed for income tax exemption to workers. He said that the government also provided additional medical benefits to the workers.

MLC Srinivas Reddy said the Opposition parties were struggling for survival and hence, joined hands to fight against the TRS affiliated Telangana Boggugani Karmika Sangham. “In the last 60 years, neither Congress nor TDP or even the Communist parties did any good for workers. But the TRS government has addressed all their problems,” he added.
