Hyderabad: With the BJP Central leadership giving a thumbsdown in accommodating any leader in the Central Cabinet after dropping senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS leaders took a dig at the BJP Telangana leadership and termed it as the latter’s dwindling credibility not only among public but also with their own high command. The TRS leaders also warned the BJP Telangana leaders against instigating religious sentiments for political mileage.
Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav also felt that the BJP State leadership had no moral right to criticise the TRS government when it had not only failed to sanction any major project to the State but also gave no representation to TS in the Cabinet expansion. “BJP national leadership is ignoring both Telugu states. There is no representation from both Telugu States in the Central Cabinet which indicates that the BJP State leadership has lost credibility with their party high command,” he said.
Peddapalli MP Balka Suman said that BJP Central leadership has lost hopes on its Telangana leaders and hence, none were accommodated in fresh Cabinet expansion. He alleged that BJP Telangana leaders were trying to hog attention of their Central leadership by organising Vimochana Yatra as well as dragging AIMIM into every issue only to instigate religious sentiments among people for political mileage. He dared the BJP leaders to get national status to one of the major irrigation projects in the State or at least convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the celebrations of TS formation day on June 2.
Government Whip in TS Legislative Council Bodakunty Venkateswarlu likened BJP leaders to Congress leaders over resorting to cheap tricks for political gain and predicted that BJP would suffer same fate of Congress leaders in the next elections. He strongly objected to BJP state president K Laxman over targeting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with regard to celebrating September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day and pointed out that he was criticising the latter who received accolades from several national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It has been three years in power for both TRS and BJP. Let the BJP state leadership introspect about promises that they made for TS and succeeded,” he challenged.
MLC Srinivas Reddy also found fault with BJP leaders who are criticising Nizam rule but do not dare to mention attrocities during the Andhra rulers’ regime. “Nizam was a king and we can understand restrictions during his regime. But we were in a democratic system when Andhra rulers failed to address problems in Telangana region and instead, they robbed us of our resources and labour to fill their coffers,” he alleged. He pointed out that despite having four MLAs in BJP could not win even four divisions in their constituencies during the GHMC polls.
