Nizamabad: Telangana Jagruthi is conducting ‘Kavithanjali Kavi Sammealanam’ to protect Telugu language and encourage people to write poetry in Telugu, said Nizamabad MP Kavitha.
MP Kavitha on Saturday launched the ‘Kavi Sammelanam’ and felicitated poets and writers at Hotel Vamshi International, Nizamabad.
Kavitha said after formation of Telangana, TRS government had been giving high priority to Telugu and formed the ‘Telangana Sahitya Parishad’ to boost Telugu language and local dialect.
‘World Telugu Meetings’ would be conducted in Hyderabad in October to promote Telangana dialect which was neglected earlier. Telangana Jagruthi is also trying to encourage poets and writers all over State.
In this Kavisammelanam, above 100 poets and writers are participating, Telugu University Professor SV Satyanrayan is chief guest for the programme, local poets VP Chandan Rao, Gantyala Prasad, Ganapuram Devender, Kasarla Nagesh Rao, Chintala Gangadas, Narala Sudhakar, V Triveni, Sharada Hanumandlu, Gandam Vijaya Lakshmi and others were felicitated.
Telangana Jagruthi State general secretary Naveena Chary, Nizamabad Mayor Aakula Suajtha, TRS district president Eega Gangareddy and other participated in the programme.
