Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has extended its support to the Bill introduced by the NDA government in the Rajya Sabha on Monday seeking bifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories after the Centre revoked Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to the State.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Bill seeking bifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir with legislature, and Ladakh without a legislature.
Both the TRS and YSR Congress Party, the ruling parties in the two Telugu States, extended their support to the bill.
Responding to the Centre’s decision, former Nizamabad MP K Kavitha tweeted, “My prayers are with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in this moment of monumental change being made with respect to reorganisation of the State and Article 370. Hope they will be safe and soon peace will prevail over Kashmir.”
