Hyderabad: Member Secretary, Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), P Satyanarayana warned of stringent action on industries, which are not following norms and causing air pollution in Nacharam and Mallapur areas. On Wednesday, team of TSPSC officials conducted raids in several industries located in Nacharam and Mallapur including Clearsynth Labs, Sreeni Labs Private Limited, GRK Research Laboratories Private Limited, Vagdevi InnoScience Private Limited, GVK Biosciences Private Limited.
During the visit, the Member Secretary also inspected the air pollution control equipment in GVK Biosciences Private Limited and Intonation Research Laboratories Private Limited located in Nacharam. Fed-up with the levels of air pollution emitted from pharmaceutical industries in their neighbourhood, the residents of Nacharam and surrounding colonies had requested MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao to take action. Based on the complaints received from the residents, a seven-member team has been appointed that comprises of environmental engineer from PCB and scientists. The seven-member team will collect samples from colonies and pharmaceutical industries for analysis, Reddy said, in a press release issued here.
The samples testing and analysis will be conducted in the PCB’s mobile laboratory. Based on the analysis report, action will be initiated on those industries, which are found to be flouting the rules. Continuous raids will be conducted in order to control the air pollution in these areas, the PCB Member Secretary added.
