Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Monday allayed fears among aspirants who had made corrections while filling up their OMR sheets while appearing for examination.

The Commission said that no candidate will be put to loss due to the misguidance or confusion in the examination centres at the time of the examination. The TSPSC had conducted a large scale competitive examination for Group-II service posts in November, 2016 wherein 7.89 lakh candidates applied and 5.27 lakh aspirants had appeared for the exam.

Due to certain confusions that prevailed in a few examinations centres regarding OMR sheets and Question booklet, some candidates had made corrections while filling in the OMR. In this regard, some candidates had represented to the Commission to examine and consider their individual cases while Chief Superintendents of the examination centres also had submitted their report to that extent.

To examine their cases, the Commission had appointed a Technical Committee which in its report recommended to consider the cases of corrections made in the biodata part sheet of the OMR only and not to consider any such corrections made in the performance part of the OMR, which is the candidates’ response to questions. The TSPSC has accepted the recommendation of TSPSC and will consider corrections made in the bio-data part of the OMR. Any corrections or erasures made in the central part of the OMR sheet, where the responses of the candidates to the questions are given will not be considered for valuation hence this does not influence the merit of any candidates, TSPSC in a statement clarified.
