Khammam: A grand welcome was accorded to Roads & Buildings Minister and TRS Palair Assembly candidate, Tummala Nageswara Rao, on his first visit to the constituency after announcement of ticket.
A massive bike and car rally consisting of about 8,000 vehicles was taken from Nayakangudem to Kusumanchi on Friday. TRS activists and followers of the Minister took part in the rally with party flags and raised slogans while the Minister greeted the crowds from an open top jeep.
Later, Rao addressed party workers and leaders at a meeting at Kusumanchi. He asked public in Khammam district to reelect TRS government for continuation of welfare schemes introduced by the government.
“Telangana has witnessed immense development during the past four and half years. Such kind of development was not seen in past 70 years under,” he said.
The developmental and welfare initiatives launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has placed Telangana at the top spot in country. Many leaders at national level lauded the TRS government for pro-people measures, the Minister added.
Rao said had he become Minister two and half years ago, Palair would have witnessed tremendous progress on all fronts. Steps to irrigate every acre of agricultural land in Palair assembly constituency were being taken care of.
Listing out development schemes taken up by the government, the Minister appealed to voters in constituency and in the district to support TRS nominees.
Khammam MP, P Srinivas Reddy, MLC Balasani Lakshminayana and many other leaders took part in the rally and later addressed the party workers.
