Hyderabad: Kids have an unhinged imagination and in order to tap into this creative mind and develop some innovative solutions, TWorks along with What If is organizing a two-day Make-a-thon. As part of this event, not just children but even makers, artists and designers will be brought together under one roof to give a voice to kids’ innovations. As part of the programme, makers have to turn a child’s idea into a prototype that can communicate well to the audience and this can be a working model, a 3D render, a miniature model or even an animation.
“This is an extension of the Kid vs Covid challenge wherein children participated to draw up inventions to solve problems around them. Now, makers have to work with these children to make their innovations into practical models,” said the event website. As part of the competition, makers from Hyderabad can use the prototyping services at TWorks or get material reimbursement of up to Rs 3,000 from TWorks.
The last date to apply for the Make-a-thon is October 7, while October 11 is the last date to select inventions and submit proposals for the prototype. Between October 12 to 18, makers will receive confirmation on their match with a kidventor and get a call on understanding their vision. While October 18 is the last date to submit a request for reimbursement and October 24 is the last date to submit images and videos of the final prototype. This will be done through a virtual gathering and makers can choose more than one idea, provided they finish the prototype before October 24.
