Hyderabad: Two burglars arrested in separate incidents

Hyderabad: In two separate incidents, the Cyberabad police arrested two persons on the charges of burglaries and robberies in houses on the city outskirts.

In the first incident, the Rajendranagar police arrested T Sathya Murthy alias John alias David (63), for his involvement in eight cases registered under Rajendranagar, Lalaguda and Malkajgiri police station limits.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar, P Ashok said Murthy, a resident of Bahadurpura and native of Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu, was a construction labourer.

“He is a habitual offender and was involved in several criminal cases in Tamil Nadu. He was arrested in a case related to murder and was imprisoned in Chennai Central Prison as well.

After he was released, he shifted to Hyderabad and began committing burglaries here,” he said.
Murthy’s accomplice, Mohammad Mehari, was arrested earlier.

In another case, Shamshabad Central Crime Station police arrested a person Kothuri Srinivas alias Srinivas Reddy alias Basu (35), for his involvement in a robbery case registered under Rajendranagar police station limits on October 19.

“He robbed six tolas of gold and 15 tolas of silver ornaments from the house of one Vijaya Lakshmi,” the ACP said, adding that the suspect was the brother-in-law of the victim and had hatched the plan knowing that she would be away from the city on October 19.

Both the suspects were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
