Two held for drunk driving

Police registered a case and arrested the duo on Monday, after which they were produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.

Hyderabad: The Pet Basheerabad police on Monday arrested two persons on charges of drunk driving, which had resulted in an accident in which one person was injured.

The condition of the injured person was stated to be critical.

According to the police, Harish (24) and Krishna Mohan (23), both residents of Bank Colony, had met a friend at Bowenpally on Sunday night, and after consuming liquor were returning to their friend’s house around 10.30 pm on a two-wheeler.

Near Suchitra Crossroad, Harish lost control of the bike and hit another two-wheeler. Kiran, a resident of Chintal and a software engineer, who was riding the other bike, suffered head injuries and were shifted to a private hospital nearby, said M Parasuram, Sub-Inspector, Petbasheerabad. Kiran’s condition was critical.
