Two killed in Mancherial road accident

Mancherial: Two persons died on the spot when a van collided with lorry at Indaram cross roads in Jaipur mandal in the early morning. Around 15 others received minor injuries.

Jaipur Police said Hanumanthu, 35 and Ranga Reddy Venkat Reddy, 58, both daily wage earners from Adhoni mandal of Kurnool district were the victims. The injured also belong to Kurnool.

Both Hanumanthu and Venkat Reddy were trapped in the cabin of the van which dashed an oncoming lorry at around 5 am. Their bodies were retrieved with the help of JCB. They were travelling in the vehicle to some villages in Bellamaplli mandal for picking cotton at the time of the incident.

The injured were admitted to a government hospital in Mancherial district hospital. The bodies were also shifted to the hospital for carrying out post-mortem.
